Maysa
Baltimore-born singer Maysa Leak started out her career as a vocalist in
Wonderlove, Stevie Wonder's female backing group after graduating in classical
performance from Morgan State University in Baltimore. Maysa is strongly
associated with British acid jazz exponents Incognito, a band she joined shortly
after her stint with Wonderlove.
Incognito were then known simply as a jazz funk band and Maysa sang on their
acclaimed album 'Tribes, Vibes and Scribes' released in 1992. The album reached
number five in the US Jazz Charts and the track 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing'
