Maurizio Giammarco (born October 17, 1952, in Pavia) is an Italian jazz
saxophonist, composer, and arranger. Giammarco began playing the saxophone at
age 14 and initiated a professional career in 1972. During the 1970s, Giammarco
performed with artists including Giorgio Gaslini, Giancarlo Schiaffini, and
Enrico Pieranunzi. In 1976, he established his first ensemble and later founded
the fusion group Lingomania in 1984, which received several "Best Italian Group"
awards from Musica Jazz. Giammarco collaborated with international musicians
