Maurice Kirya
Maurice Kirya, born on November 4, 1984, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and
actor whose career began with home‑grown performances inspired by his mother’s
storytelling. He first gained attention with the single "T'aimer" and the 2009
album Missubbaawa, which introduced his hybrid Mwooyo style that blends soul,
R&B, and jazz. In 2010, he received the RFI Discoveries Award, and subsequent
