Matthew Loveland Dennis, professionally known as Matt Dennis, and born February 11, 1914, in Seattle, was an American jazz pianist and singer. He began his career in 1933 as a vocalist and pianist with Horace Heidt's orchestra. Matthew Loveland Dennis joined Tommy Dorsey's band in 1940, composing the hit "Everything Happens to Me" recorded by Frank Sinatra.
