Japanese singer-songwriter Masaaki Endoh (遠藤正明) was born on August 28, 1967 in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan and has often been referred to by the nickname "Young Lion of Anison." After graduating from high school he joined a band called The Hiptones, later becoming one half of the acoustic duo Short Hopes after The Hiptones parted ways.
