Mary Schneider
Mary Schneider was born on October 25, 1932, and is an Australian singer and
performer known as Australia’s Queen of Yodelling, a master of Swiss Alpine
yodelling who applied the technique to classical, marches, folk and big‑band
pieces. She began her career in 1945 with her sister Rita as the Schneider
Sisters, creating Australia’s first original rock ’n’ roll single "Washboard
Rock ’n Roll" in the 1950s. The duo toured throughout the 1950s and 1960s,
