Martin Simpson is an English folk singer-songwriter and guitarist, born on May
5, 1953, in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. A leading figure in the British folk scene
since the 1970s, he is known for his fingerpicking virtuosity and his ability to
blend traditional English and American music with original compositions. He
began his recording career in 1976 with the album Golden Vanity and gained
recognition for his fluid style blending acoustic guitar, banjo, and slide
