Mario Klemens, born on October 3, 1936 in Chlumec nad Cidlinou, was a Czech
conductor and music teacher. He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in
Prague in 1967 after receiving a first mention at the 1966 International
Besançon Competition for Young Conductors. He joined the Film Symphony
Orchestra, recording scores for more than 150 films in Czech cinema. His notable
releases include Soukup / Riedlbauch: Symphony No. 3 “Canto Allegro” / Deadly
Rondos (1986). Klemens passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 88. On
