Marie‑France Pierrette Georgette Dufour, also known as Marie, was born on August
8, 1949, in Nancy, France, and was a French singer. She was married to guitarist
Lionel Gaillardin, who played with Nino Ferrer and later became a member of the
group Il était une fois. Marie also contributed to the group's launch. In 1971,
she achieved her first major success with the song "Soleil", which won the Rose
d'Or d'Antibes. That same year, she performed "Il ne faut jamais sourire d'un
