Maribel Guardia
Maribel del Rocío Fernández García, known professionally as Maribel Guardia, is
a Costa Rican-Mexican actress, singer, and television presenter born in San
José, Costa Rica, on May 29, 1959. She began her career as a model, winning Miss
Costa Rica in early 1978 and representing her country at the Miss Universe 1978
pageant in Acapulco, Mexico, where she was named Miss Photogenic. Following the
pageant, she received a scholarship from Televisa to study acting, singing, and
