Manuel Enrique Obregón López, born in 1961, in San José, Costa Rica, is a
pianist and composer. He began playing the piano at age seven and continued his
musical education at the Conservatorio de la Universidad de Costa Rica.
Obregón's career includes collaborations with groups such as Malpaís. His work
often integrates traditional Latin American music with jazz, reflecting his deep
connection to Costa Rican culture. He released the album Simbiosis. Obregón also
served as the Minister of Culture and Youth of Costa Rica from 2010 to 2014
under President Laura Chinchilla Miranda.
