Manfred Krug, born February 8, 1937, in Duisburg, Germany, is a singer and
actor. He began his career as an actor before transitioning into music with the
release of his first album Jazz und Lyrik in 1964, followed by Manfred Krug und
die Modern Jazz Big Band (1965) and Lyrik - Jazz - Prosa (1966). In 1976, the
East German government banned him from working due to his participation in
protests against the expulsion of Wolf Biermann. Krug moved to West Berlin and
continued his acting career, notably starring in the television series Auf Achse
from 1978 to 1995 and Tatort from 1984...
