Mandalay, a British trip-hop duo from the United Kingdom, was formed in 1995 by
multi-instrumentalist Saul Freeman and multi-instrumentalist-composer-singer
Nicola Hitchcock. After Freeman's previous band Thieves disbanded, he
collaborated with Hitchcock to create Mandalay, inspired by the emerging
trip-hop scene. Their debut single "Flowers Bloom" (1996) earned critical
acclaim, leading to a full recording deal with V2 Music. The duo released their
