Manamana
Mana Mana was a Finnish rock group from Joensuu formed in 1986 by Jouni Mömmö
and Arto "Otra" Romppanen. Their unique sound blended goth and death rock with
punk, metal, stoner rock, and grunge elements. Their debut single, "Maria /
Vaarallista" (1988), was followed by the first LP album Totuus palaa (1990).
Mömmö's haunting vocals and lyrics filled with religious symbolism became a
trademark of their group. However, Mömmö's deteriorating mental health led to
his suicide in October 1991 at age 35. Posthumously, they continued with live
