Mahan Mirarab
Mahan Mirarab, born on July 13, 1983, in Tehran, Iran, is an Iranian jazz
guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. Raised in Tehran, he studied
architecture at the University of Tehran while training in jazz improvisation
under Vahagn Hayrapetyan, eventually integrating Persian microtonality with
jazz. He relocated to Vienna in 2009, where he began performing on a custom
double-neck guitar. His discography includes the albums Persian Side of Jazz
(2011), Dar Lahze (2014) with the trio Sehrang, Choub, Derakht, and Say Your
