Magazine
Magazine, formed in Manchester in 1977, was an English post-punk band. Their
debut studio record, Real Life, released in 1978, was critically acclaimed and
is now considered one of the first British post-punk albums. In 1979, they
followed with the studio album Secondhand Daylight. The band's next releases —
Play in 1980, The Correct Use of Soap the same year, and Magic, Murder and the
Weather in 1981 — helped all four of their albums reach the top 40 on the UK
Albums Chart. After the 1981 release, Magazine disbanded, and their legacy was
preserved through posthumous compilations...
