Madi Diaz, born May 14, 1986 in Greenwich, Connecticut, is an American
singer-songwriter. Raised in Lancaster, Pennslvania, by her Peruvian mother
Nancy and Danish father Eric, a woodworker and musician who played keyboards in
the Frank Zappa tribute band Project/Object. Encouraged by her parents, Diaz
began piano lessons at age five and later switched to guitar in her early teens.
She was featured in the 2005 documentary Rock School as Madi Diaz-Svalgard. Diaz
