Macross 82-99 is a Mexican electronic music producer and DJ from Mexico City His
breakthrough came with Neo Tokyo and Sailorwave, influential works in future
funk, a subgenre of vaporwave blending sample-based production with French house
and dance music influences. Macross 82-99's music combines plunderphonics,
disco, jazz fusion, house, hip hop, and city pop, often featuring elements from
video games, Japanese pop culture, and 1980s and 1990s anime. In 2017, he signed
with Neoncity Records, which released several of his albums on cassette, vinyl,
