Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, rapper, songwriter and composer Michael
Thompson is better known as Lyriq Luchiano. He grew up in Culpeper in an
impoverished environment, from which he extracted himself by writing songs and
poetry in high school. He began by recording at home, before gaining access to a
