Lyapis Trubetskoy is a Belarusian rock band formed in 1990, named after a
character from Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov's novel The Twelve Chairs. They
initially gained traction with their early albums Ты кинула (1998) and Любови
капец (1998). Throughout the 2000s, Lyapis Trubetskoy released a series of
influential albums including Manifest (2008), which was named the best album of
the year by West Records. Their popularity grew significantly with a headlining
