Lustans Lakejer, a Swedish new wave / synthpop group formed in 1978 and led by
singer-songwriter Johan Kinde, achieved success with the albums Uppdrag i Genève
and En plats i solen. En plats i solen was produced by Richard Barbieri of Japan
and included saxophone contributions from Mick Karn. An English-language
version, A Place in the Sun, was released under the name Vanity Fair but did not
achieve commercial success. By 1984, Kinde parted ways with the original members
to pursue a solo career after releasing two more albums as Lustans Lakejer. The
