Luigi Lai
Luigi Lai, born on July 25, 1932, in San Vito, Cagliari, Italy, is a musician
and heir of the Sarrabus school of launeddas players. As a child, he studied the
launeddas under Antonio Lara in nearby Villaputzu. In his early career, Lai
lived in Switzerland and attended the Academy of Music in Zurich. His
breakthrough came with his collaboration on La Pulce d'Acqua (1977) by Angelo
Branduardi, where he played the launeddas. Lai released his album Sardaigne
