Lucrecia Pérez Sáez, known professionally as Lucrecia, was born on March 15,
1967, in Cuba. She began studying piano at age seven and later specialized in
piano at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. Her early career included
singing with La Orquesta Anacaona, an all-female group founded in 1932. With
Anacaona, Lucrecia toured internationally in the 1980s and early 1990s before
leaving the group in 1993 to settle in Barcelona. Her solo career began with the
release of her first album Prohibido (1996), followed by Mis Boleros (1996),
