Los Rabanes
Los Rabanes, formed in Chitré, Herrera, Panama, emerged in the early 1990s when
childhood friends Emilio Regueira Pérez, Christian “Pipón” Torres, and Javier
Saavedra began performing in local pubs. Their first breakthrough came with the
1996 single "¿Por Qué Te Fuiste Benito?", which gained regional radio play and
led to a performance on the inaugural Rock Nacional tour. The band released
their debut album, also called ¿Por Qué Te Fuiste Benito? Los Rabanes, that same
year, and featuring a blend of ska, punk, and Latin rhythms that established
