Founded in Parral (Maule Region, Chile) in 2008, Los Potros del Sur built their
reputation on a cumbia ranchera sound with bright keyboards, romantic melodies,
and party-ready medleys; their first breakthrough came with the 2008 album Donde
No Hay Uno Hay Otro y Donde Hay Yegua Hay Potro, highlighted by signature cuts
such as “La Múcura y a Quién,” “Aya Yai,” and “El Alacrán.” Through the early
2010s the group expanded its catalog with titles including Si Esto No Es Gueno,
Que Es Gueno Cumpa… (2010) and, later, a pair of 2015 sets—Los Potros del Sur
and Se pensó, se armó y se hiz...
