Loren Schoenberg (born July 23, 1958) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist,
conductor, educator, and historian from Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Schoenberg
studied piano from age three and began saxophone at age 15. In 1976, Schoenberg
enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music and performed with Eddie Durham. In
1980, Schoenberg formed a big band that became the final Benny Goodman orchestra
in 1985. Schoenberg served as archivist, assistant, and manager for Goodman
