Soft rock singer and songwriter Roland Kent LaVoie - born in Tallahassee,
Florida on July 31, 1943 - is an American singer-songwriter better known by his
stage name, Lobo. Often compared to – and confused with – soft rock
contemporaries Bread (and singer-songwriter David Gates), Lobo rose to
prominence in the 1970s with hits such as "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo"
(1971) and "I'd Love You to Want Me" (1972), and “Don’t Expect Me to Be Your
