Lilian Patricia, also known as Lita Roza, was born on March 14, 1926, in Liverpool, England, and was a singer who began her career at an early age. She started performing as a dancer and singer in local clubs before joining the Ted Heath Band in 1950. Her breakthrough came with her 1953 recording of "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?", which reached Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart, making her the first British woman to achieve a Number 1 hit.
