A minimalist funk band that emerged from the New York punk/no wave scene, Liquid
Liquid left a lasting mark, notably with the track "Cavern", sampled by
Grandmaster & Melle Mel in the old-school hip-hop classic "White Lines". Formed
in 1978 by Salvatore Principato, Richard McGuire, Scott Hartley and Dennis
Young, the group recorded two limited-edition EPs for 99 Records, Liquid Liquid
and Successive Reflexes in 1981, before releasing Optimo (1983), produced by Don
