Lindigo
Lindigo perpetuates the tradition of maloya, a musical style originally derived
from the songs of African slaves brought to Réunion by French planters. The
Lindigo group is part of the new generation of maloya musicians, listed as a
UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. Lindigo debuted in 2005 with Misaotra Mama,
then revisited the Malagasy roots of maloya with Zanatany in 2006. In 2009, the
