Les Paul & Mary Ford, an American husband-and-wife duo, began their career in
1950. Both were guitarists and vocalists who met through Gene Autry in 1945.
They first appeared in the pop charts in 1950 with their debut single, "Mockin'
Bird Hill", and released a total of 28 hits for Capitol Records between 1950 and
1957. Their breakthrough came with "How High the Moon", which topped the charts
for nine weeks, followed by "Vaya Con Dios", which held the number one spot for
eleven weeks. They secured five top ten hits within nine months in 1952-1953,
including "My Baby's Coming Home...
