Emine Leman Senkan, also known as Leman Sam, born on February 22, 1951, in
Üsküdar, Istanbul, Turkey, is a singer and songwriter. She received formal
education in theater, singing, and dance, and worked in an opera chorus early in
her career. Sam's breakthrough came with the release of Livaneli Şarkıları in
1988. Her subsequent albums include Çağrı (1990), Ayak Sesleri (1992), Eski
