Leendert "Leen" Huijzer, known professionally as Lee Towers, was born in 1946 in
the Netherlands. He began his career as a dockworker in Rotterdam before being
discovered in 1975 by Willem Duys, who introduced him as "The Singing Crane
Mechanic." His first single, "Louisa", was released under the name Leen Huizer.
In 1976, Towers' breakthrough came with the release of his biggest hit, "You'll
Never Walk Alone". He gained significant recognition for his theatrical
performances at Rotterdam Ahoy, where he set a record for the most concerts by a
