Mawuli Kulego, known professionally as Lazee, was born on 15 June 1985 in Malmö,
Sweden, and emerged as a Swedish rapper of Ghanaian descent. His early exposure
to music came through his father, a DJ who introduced him to soul, R&B, and
reggae, while Lazee’s fascination with hip‑hop began at age seven and led him to
write his first rhyme at ten. After a formative period in London during his
adolescence, he returned to Malmö, where he released the mixtape It Is What It
