Lava La Rue
Born in London on 21 May 1998, Aiwa Laurel, known professionally as Lava La Rue,
is a British musician of mixed Latvian and Black British heritage, raised partly
by their Jamaican grandmother. Influenced by first-generation Caribbean culture,
Aiwa Laurel began playing in bands at a young age. At 16, while navigating
foster care, they started creating music and sharing it online. In 2018, Lava La
Rue released their debut single "Widdit" and the EP Letra, quickly gaining
traction within the alternative UK music scene. The following year saw the
