Laura Bretan, born on April 7, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois, is a Romanian-American
soprano singer. She began singing at age six, trained by her mother, and started
performing at Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church at eight. In 2016, Bretan won
season 6 of Romania's Got Talent. Following this victory, she auditioned for
America's Got Talent with "Nessun dorma" from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot,
receiving a standing ovation and advancing directly to the quarterfinals via Mel
