Lasse Lönndahl, born Lars Gunnar Lönndahl on August 19, 1928, in Stockholm,
Sweden, was a Swedish singer and actor. His breakthrough came in 1949 with his
first record, "Tangokavaljeren", which reached number 2 in Sweden. Throughout
the 1950s, Lönndahl became one of the leading figures in popular music, scoring
12 number 2 hit singles and making several movies. In the 1960s, he achieved his
first Number 1 single on the Swedish chart Svensktoppen with "Midnattstango"
(1962), which stayed in the charts for 18 weeks. Between 1962 and 1972, Lönndahl
