Larry Cordle
Larry Cordle is an American country and bluegrass singer-songwriter born in 1948
in Kentucky. He began his career as a songwriter, writing hits including
“Alabama Clay” for Garth Brooks and “Highway 40 Blues” for Ricky Skaggs. In
1990, he formed the band Lonesome Standard Time with Glen Duncan. The group
released its self-titled debut album in 1992, which received a Grammy Award
nomination. Cordle is best known for the song “Murder on Music Row”, which was
