L'Âme Immortelle, an Austrian darkwave duo, was formed in 1996 by Thomas Rainer
and Hannes Medwenitsch. The group initially consisted of three members: Rainer,
Medwenitsch, and Sonja Kraushofer, who joined later as the lead vocalist. Their
first song, "Final Oath", was composed in 1996 but not released until 2001 with
the single Judgement. In 1997, L'Âme Immortelle sent demo tapes of their album
Lieder Die Wie Wunden Bluten to European record labels. MOS Records signed them
