Lakuna was an American electronic instrumental project founded by drummer David
Narcizo in 1996 after Throwing Muses disbanded. The project’s breakthrough came
with the 12‑inch "So Happy" in 1999, followed by the full‑length album Castle of
Crime (1999), released on 4AD and Throwing Music; the album featured guest
musicians Bernard Georges, Kristin Hersh, Tom Gorman, Melissa “Misi” Narcizo,
and Frank Gardner, and employed tape loops and vintage samples to create ambient
soundscapes. The band became inactive in 2000.
