Lainie Kazan, born Lainie Levine on May 15, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, is an
American singer and actress. She began her music career by understudying for
Barbra Streisand in the Broadway musical Funny Girl in 1964. She released her
debut studio album Lainie Kazan in 1966. Throughout the late 1960s, Kazan
released several albums including Right Now in 1966, as well as Love Is Lainie
and The Love Album in 1967. She operated two Playboy Jazz Clubs named Lainie's
