Kim Stockwood, born November 11, 1965, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador,
is a Canadian singer known for her work in contemporary folk and folk pop
genres. She began performing on folk nights at a local pub before moving to
Toronto in 1992, where she secured a publishing deal with EMI after an impromptu
performance. Her debut album, Bonavista, was released in 1995; the repackaged
version included "Jerk", which became a top 10 hit on the Canadian pop chart and
earned Stockwood a Juno Award nomination for best new artist. In 2002, she
