Kim Plainfield, born on March 24, 1954, in Berkeley, California, was an American
jazz drummer. He moved to New York City in 1977, beginning his career with
performances and studio recordings. Throughout his career, Plainfield worked
with notable artists such as Bill Connors, Didier Lockwood, and Jon Lucien. In
2002, he became an Associate Professor of Percussion at the Berklee College of
Music. As a studio musician, he contributed to numerous productions by artists
