Born on 21 November 1979 in Seoul, South Korea, Kim Dong-wan is a multi-hyphenate star equally famed for his work as a singer, actor, and television personality. During the late 1990s, he cut his teeth as a singer in the boy band Shinhwa who debuted under SM Entertainment and became one of the longest-lasting boy bands in the history of K-pop.
