Kevin Rowland, born on August 17, 1953, in Wednesfield, Staffordshire, England, is a British singer and musician best known as the frontman for the pop band Dexys Midnight Runners. Rowland's first musical venture was with the short-lived band Lucy & the Lovers. He then formed the punk rock act The Killjoys, releasing the single "Johnny Won't Get To Heaven" in 1977. Alienated by the punk scene, Rowland and guitarist Kevin Archer formed Dexys Midnight Runners, a soul-influenced group known for hits like "Geno" and "Come On Eileen", both of which reached Number 1 on the UK Singles C...
