Leslie Hulme, known professionally as Ken Barrie, was born on January 9, 1933,
in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, United Kingdom. He began his career
under the stage name Les Carle, recording for Embassy Records from 1962 to 1965
before changing his stage name to Ken Barrie. He provided singing voices for
actors in several feature films and became widely known for voicing characters
in the children's television series Postman Pat, starting in 1981. He narrated
