Sonoko Kawai, born on June 20, 1965, in Japan, is a Japanese singer and actor.
She began her career as part of the pop group Onyanko Club in 1985, joining
under the number "12." Her debut single "Namida no Jasmine Love" was released
that same year. She quickly became one of the most popular members of Onyanko
Club and simultaneously launched a solo career with her first album その子 (Sonoko)
