Karoll Marquez
Karoll Iván Márquez Mendoza, born on January 15, 1984, in Cartagena de Indias,
Colombia, is a singer-songwriter and composer. He began his musical journey at
age ten with studies at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Cartagena, focusing on
flute and solfège. At 12, he was studying voice under soprano Margarita Escallón
and guitar with Luis García. Márquez's debut album, Karoll Márquez, released in
late 2000, featured the hit single "Embrujo", which topped Colombian pop charts.
