Kae Sun
Kwaku Darko‑Mensah Jr., known professionally as Kae Sun, was born in Accra,
Ghana, in 2006. Kae Sun adopted his stage name while still a student, performing
locally and recording demos that led to a local music prize and the funding of
his debut Lion on a Leash in 2009 through an Ontario Arts Council grant. The
album, released on URBNET, was followed by the EP Outside the Barcode and the
2013 LP Afriyie. In 2014, Kae Sun debuted in the United States at the Apollo
