Julius La Rosa, born on January 2, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, was an American traditional popular music singer. He joined the United States Navy at age 17 and began singing in a Navy choir. In 1951, La Rosa's peers promoted him to Arthur Godfrey, leading to his first television appearance on Arthur Godfrey Time. His debut single, "Anywhere I Wander", reached number 30 on the charts. In October 1953, he was famously fired on-air by Godfrey for hiring a personal manager.
